Working group «Teenage Lifestyles in a United Europe»

Objectives of the working group

  • Identify common aspects and differences in everyday life
  • Identify economic and cultural influences on pupils
  • Work in international teams, improve command of foreign languages, use different channels of communication, compare living standards, costs of living and purchase power in the various countries
  • Attempt to establish meaningful connections between the countries that lead to mutual understanding, tolerance, cooperation—point out possibilities for cooperation

Central activities

  • First year: Preparations for a meeting between June—October. In October project meeting in Warsaw to exchange the results of the work done at the individual schools. In March a project meeting in Ajka to summarise the results of the first year. Communication amongst the pupils shall be boosted all year round.
  • Second year: Teacher exchange program in October, project meetings in Schwechat in October and in Losice in March. The objective is to study the connection between the macro-economy and everyday life in the other countries. Schools get on site support from experts.
  • Third year: Further project meetings and a meeting of the Directors. Summaries of and reflections on the project. Establishment of the final product and preparation of the exhibition. The aim is to produce didactic materials such as CD roms, videos, a website etc..
