Objectives of the working group
-
draw the attention of the pupils to their rich regional culture and tradition - sharpen
their awareness for their own cultural roots and establish an exchange between the
participating countries («identity in the past»)

visions of one's own local identity in connection with a broad all-European identity
(«Identity for the Future»)
-
art as a means of expression for the discussion of the future cultural identity and a means
to analyse one's own cultural past
-
mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect when dealing with other cultures are of special
importance
-
another aim is the motivation of pupils to use several languages in their work
-
the use of new technologies as a pre-condition for communication during the project as well
as the development, documentation, and presentation of the project works
Central activities
-
research on local and regional traditional culture; gather representative examples from
regional popular art and culture
-
cooperation with regional artists and representatives of the cultural scene in workshops
(organised by the schools)
-
continuous documentation and presentation using the new media
-
pupils shall be inspired to contribute their own creative work
-
literary works and illustrations to be published electronically and in print
-
organisation of exhibitions
