Eva Völkel und Dr. Wolfgang Vogg/Graphic Academy Vienna What It’s About The fascination of photography lies in the fact that photographs are seen not only as a visual protocol of the world, but also as a product of interaction between the world, the photographic medium, the photographer and the viewer. We shall undertake a search for written motifs, texts, logos etc. in the centre of Krakow and attempt to discover interesting details and segments as well as unusual viewpoints. Content Introducation to Photographic Design Viewpoint/Standpoint The right moment – snapshots Light and shadow – contrast effects Lighting – mood pictures Composition and details etc. Visualisation of cultural similarities and differences Presentation of the project «Search for Cultural Traces» What Is Needed The pupils should bring along photographs showing written characters, symbols, traffic signs, street signs, signs on houses etc. from the centres of their respective home towns.
